Used part, see product photos for details. The lock is offered without a key and with untested function. The linkage rod for the central locking is present.
Function and location
The trunk lid lock secures the trunk lid via a spring-loaded rotary latch, which in the closed position catches the striker on the body. The lock cylinder releases the rotary latch again with the matching flat key. The long linkage rod also actuates the vacuum actuator of the central locking, which in turn locks and unlocks the doors and fuel filler flap along with it.
The lock is installed centrally in the trunk lid and bolted from the inside. The cross-shaped plastic flange rests against the inner panel, and the chrome-plated lock cylinder protrudes outward.
How can you tell a trunk lid lock is defective?
- Trunk lid can no longer be locked, or springs open by itself again
- Key turns stiffly, or the rotary latch does not release cleanly
- Central locking locks the doors and fuel filler flap along with it, but the trunk lid remains unlocked – or vice versa
- Linkage rod catches, or the vacuum actuator responds with a delay

⚠ Important: compare the part number before buying
The lock is offered without a key and with untested function – a locksmith can open the cylinder and rekey it to your existing lock.
This version has a linkage rod for the central locking (code 466); without central locking you do not need the rod, but it does not get in the way either.
Since several designs exist and no number is legible on the part, please compare design, flange and linkage with your old part.
Does not fit:
- W124 – separate number family 124 750 xx 85, visually very similar, so be sure to compare
- W123 and W126 – a push-button lock is fitted there, a different design
- W202 and all other model series
- Door locks and glove box locks of the W201
