Used part, see product photos for condition. Without key, function not tested. The linkage rod for actuating the central locking is present on the lock.
Function and location
A spring-loaded rotary latch in the lock housing catches the striker on the body when closing and thereby keeps the trunk lid locked. Only the matching flat key releases the rotary latch again via the lock cylinder. In addition, the long linkage rod hangs from the lock, actuating the vacuum actuator of the central locking and thereby locking or unlocking the doors and fuel filler flap along with it.
The installation location is centrally in the trunk lid; the lock is bolted from the inside, the cross-shaped plastic flange rests against the inner panel, and the chrome-plated lock cylinder faces outward.
How can you tell if a trunk lock is faulty?
- the trunk lid no longer locks properly or springs open by itself again
- the key turns only with difficulty, or the rotary latch does not release cleanly
- the central locking no longer switches the trunk lid along with it, even though the doors and fuel filler flap work normally
- the linkage rod noticeably catches, or the vacuum actuator responds with a delay

Depending on version, the Mercedes parts list carries several variants for the W201 trunk lid lock: 201 750 04 85, 201 750 07 85, 201 750 12 85, 201 750 13 85, 201 750 16 85, 201 750 22 85, 201 750 23 85 and 201 750 24 85. These differ in version and connection to the central locking. No part number is legible on the lock offered here.

This is the version with linkage rod for vehicles with central locking (code 466). Without central locking the rod is not needed, but it does not get in the way either.
Because several designs are in circulation and no number is legible on the part, please compare design, flange and linkage with your old part before ordering.
