New old stock (NOS – New Old Stock), unused, with original ATE factory label “03.3558-0408.3 Behälter/reservoir”. The plastic is clear and free of yellowing, without cracks; the ports are undamaged, the thread clean. Included in the scope of delivery are the reservoir, the cap fitting, and the included rubber grommets.
Function and location
The reservoir is the supply tank for the brake fluid. It sits directly on the master cylinder and feeds its pressure chambers via the lower ports; in doing so it compensates for volume changes from pad wear and temperature and keeps the cylinder filled without air bubbles.
Installation location: engine compartment, fitted directly onto the tandem master cylinder – the two lower ports seal by sitting over the rubber grommets in the cylinder.
