Vehicle system and function
Control unit in a relay form factor for speed-dependent steering assistance (Servotronic). It converts the speed signal from the ABS into a control signal for the Servotronic valve on the steering box: when maneuvering, the car steers lightly; at higher speeds the steering becomes firmer. The unit cannot be read out with diagnostic testers.
Installation location: Relay carrier above the onboard electrical system control unit under the dashboard on the driver's side.
Condition: Used genuine part with normal signs of use on the housing (label F1 ZFLS Servotronic, ZF 7038 900 309, Hella 5DS 009 470-09, Made in Germany). Label intact and slightly yellowed, housing with fine scratches, blade terminals matte.
How to recognize a defective part

On the A4 Cabriolet based on the B6 (8H7, 2002–2005), the parts catalog sometimes lists a different number – please compare the part number on your old part. If the car steers lightly in one direction and heavily in the other, the fault usually lies with the steering box, not the control unit.
