Vehicle system and function
Multi-purpose load relay (NO contact, 40 A). In the A4 B8, A5, A6 C7, A7, A8 D4, Q5, Q7 and TT it works as J271, the power supply relay for the engine control unit – if it fails, the engine will not start. According to the parts catalog, depending on the slot it also switches terminal 15, rear window defroster, secondary air pump, supplementary heater, power outlet or headlight cleaning.
Installation location: Relay and fuse carrier in the E-box in the water box (Audi A4 B8, A5, A6 C7, Q5 and others) or central electrics (A3, TT, VW).
Condition: Used genuine part with normal signs of use on the housing (Tyco / TE V23136-B0006, SN7, Made in Portugal). Four blade terminals, edges copper-colored, marking very easy to read. There are 5 pcs with the same relay and part number available; one example is pictured – supplier and date markings may differ. Price is per piece.
