Function and location
This fuel system pressure regulator is part of the Bosch KE-Jetronic injection system. It keeps the system pressure (approx. 6.3 bar) constant and provides sufficient residual holding pressure after the engine is switched off – this prevents hot-start problems and vapor lock in the fuel system. This is the version for the V8 engines (M116/M117) and the 24-valve six-cylinder engines (M104).
The pressure regulator is installed in the engine bay on the fuel distributor or in the KE-Jetronic return line, where it sits bolted in.
