Condition of this part
Used part, removed, untested – no test bench is available. Sensor head and cable are undamaged, the cable grommet is intact, the connector contacts are clean. The mounting bracket shows slight surface corrosion and normal signs of use. Genuine Bosch part with Mercedes star embossing, not an aftermarket part. Sold as pictured – please refer to the product photos for condition, cable length and connector shape.
Function and location
ABS wheel speed sensor (speed sensor / pulse generator) for the front right axle. The speed sensor scans the pulse ring on the wheel bearing and reports wheel speed to the ABS control unit. From the signal, the control system calculates slip and lock-up tendency and controls brake pressure modulation for ABS, ASR (traction control) and BAS (brake assist).
Installation location: On the right front steering knuckle or wheel carrier, bolted on with the mounting bracket. The cable runs through the wheel arch to the vehicle wiring harness.
