How can you tell a warm-up regulator is faulty?
The warm-up regulator is a control-pressure regulator of the Bosch K-Jetronic for the Mercedes-Benz 4-cylinder inline engine M102 E23. It lowers the control pressure when the engine is cold and thereby enriches the mixture during the warm-up phase; the electric heating adapts the regulation to the engine's characteristics.
If the regulator is faulty, the control pressure is no longer correctly lowered or adjusted during the warm-up phase, so the mixture enrichment during cold running is no longer correct.

This warm-up regulator is intended exclusively for the fuel-injected models E, CE and TE with the four-cylinder engine M102 E23, not for carburetor versions.
