Function and location
The left steering column stalk controls the left and right turn signals, low and high beam, and the headlight flasher. The outer rotary ring switches the lighting – off, parking light, low beam, and AUTO for automatic headlight control via the light sensor. The second, ribbed rotary ring switches the front fog lights and rear fog light.
Installation location: on the left of the steering column, on the switch base carrier under the steering wheel trim; can be unlocked and pulled off after removing the upper and lower steering column trim.
How can you tell if the steering column switch is defective?
- Left or right turn signal does not work or stays on permanently
- Low beam, high beam, or headlight flasher do not switch
- Automatic headlight control AUTO does not respond to the light sensor
- Front fog lights or rear fog light cannot be activated
