Condition of this part
Used genuine Mazda part from a business liquidation, stored in the old B2B freight box. The cast aluminum housing shows light handling scratches; the mounting lugs and sealing surfaces are undamaged. There are dried gasket residues on the mating surface of the pump cover – clean before installation. The crankshaft oil seal sits firmly and appears intact; we still recommend replacing it during installation (part number JF01-10-602A). Two cover screws show surface rust.
Function and location
The crankshaft-driven rotor pump sits in the front engine end cover, draws oil from the pan and delivers it to the main oil gallery of the engine block. The cast housing also carries the front crankshaft oil seal; the bolted-on cover seals the rotor set.
The pump is installed at the front of the engine, on the crankshaft nose behind the timing belt and pulley, bolted to the block.
How can you tell an oil pump is defective?
- Oil pressure warning light coming on, or a dropping reading on the oil pressure gauge
- Knocking or rattling noises from the engine due to inadequate lubrication
- Noticeable loss of power and rising engine temperature
- In advanced stages, bearing damage up to engine failure

Part numbers: This oil pump carries the part number JE16-14-100E and supersedes the earlier index levels JE16-14-100, -100B, -100C and -100D. It is designed for the 3.0-liter V6 engine with the engine code JE (SOHC). For the crankshaft oil seal at the pump cover mating surface, part number JF01-10-602A is listed as a separate wear item.

Fits only the 3.0-liter V6 engines listed. Does not fit the 24V DOHC (929 S / 929 HD Sentia, engine code JE-ZE), the 2.6-liter four-cylinder (MPV/B2600), or the later MPV (LW) with the Ford 3.0 engine.
