Condition of this part
New part (NOS), new and in original packaging in the heat-sealed Mercedes-Benz clear plastic bag with works label (batch 0060/0512/4018, date 08.12.05). The bag is age-yellowed and slightly dusty, the label partly smudged by stamp ink in the area of the part number. The gasket itself is flawless, free of rust and free of deformation.
Function and location
The flat gasket sits between the intake manifold and the cylinder head and seals the charge air path. As a coated metal-carrier gasket, it seals the two separate intake ports of the 4-valve head gas-tight from each other per cylinder. Leakage causes boost pressure loss, lack of power, whistling noises and soot or oil escaping at the joint.
In the engine bay on the intake side of the cylinder head, bolted between the intake bridge and the head. Whenever the intake manifold is removed, for example for swirl flap repair or EGR cleaning, the gasket must be renewed.

No. This gasket is exclusively for the 5-cylinder OM612 (2.7 CDI). For the OM611 2.2 CDI (4 cylinder), number A6110940080 or A6111410180 applies; for the OM613 3.2 CDI (6 cylinder), A6131410180; and for the OM646 2.2 CDI, A6461410xxx.
