Condition of this part

Used genuine part from SWF, sold untested as no test bench is available. The plastic housing shows slight scratches and storage marks; the bakelite base is intact and the print is fully legible. The connector pins are slightly tarnished, but free of rust or breakage.

Function and location

The turn signal relay generates the flash rate for the direction indicators and, at the same time, the rate for the hazard warning system – both functions sit in one housing. Terminal 49 is the input, 49a the output to the turn signal switch, terminal C switches the control lamp, and terminal 31 is earth. The load rating (2+1)/6x21W stands for two indicator bulbs plus a control lamp in turn signal mode and six 21-watt bulbs in hazard warning mode.

The unit is installed on the relay carrier in the passenger compartment – on the W123, W126, and R107, under or behind the dashboard tray on the driver's side.
