Condition of this part
New old stock (NOS – New Old Stock), unused in the original Mercedes-Benz parts box with the blue-and-white diamond pattern. Lens clear and free of scratches, reflector bare chrome, spade connectors unoxidized, mounting screws without tool marks, no installation or weathering marks whatsoever. The box itself is age-yellowed and has bumped corners – the part is not affected by this. A bulb is not included in the scope of delivery.
Function and location
This front turn signal light bundles the light of a single bulb via a chrome-plated reflector; the amber lens with honeycomb Fresnel structure spreads it widely forward and to the side. It is a single function – turn signal light only, no dual-filament operation with parking light.
The light sits on top of the front fender, mounted on and bolted through the black base with two screws. The cable runs through the middle of the fender; the connection is via spade connectors.
How can you tell that a turn signal light is faulty?
- A cracked, cloudy or faded lens reduces light output
- Turn signal fails or flickers due to oxidized or loose spade connectors at the cable connection
- Loose fit on the fender if the two mounting screws in the base no longer hold
- A cloudy or blind reflector no longer bundles the light properly to the front
