Vehicle system and function
Two solenoid valves in one housing regulate the coolant flow to the two circuits of the heater core, left and right side separately. Without power the valves are fully open; the heater control closes them as needed. If the actuation is missing, the heater stays at full output.
Installation location: In the heater water supply from the engine to the heater core, at the rear end of the engine bay near the bulkhead.
Condition: Professionally refurbished, tested and fully operational.
How to recognize a defective part
- ● Warm or hot air despite MIN setting
- ● Only lukewarm heat that fades at higher blower speeds
- ● Temperature difference between left and right side because a coil has failed
- ● Stuck valve pistons

Vehicles with windshield heating have the duo valve A 000 830 38 84 with 4 connections. Both versions were used in parallel.
⚠ Not with automatic climate control
W126 and C126 with automatic climate control have the mono valve A 000 830 37 84, R107 380 SL and 560 SL with automatic climate control the valve A 000 830 34 84.
⚠ Not W123, W124, R129
These model series have their own heater valves.
⚠ Does not fit:
- Vehicles with windshield heating (A 000 830 38 84)
- W126 and C126 with automatic climate control (mono valve)
- R107 with automatic climate control (A 000 830 34 84)
- W123, W124, R129
