Condition of this part
New old stock (NOS), unused and never installed. The original Mercedes bag with supply-stock tag is present, the packaging is age-yellowed and partly opened.
Function and location
The bearing body with pressed-in plain bushing guides the vertical drive shaft in the crankcase. This shaft is driven by the engine via a helical gear and drives the distributor at the top and the oil pump at the bottom – one component for two functions.
The bearing is installed in the crankcase at the distributor mount. The distributor is inserted into this bearing from the outside, and the same drive continues down to the oil pump.
