Vehicle system and function
The crankshaft converts the reciprocating motion of the six pistons into rotary motion and drives the timing chain at the front via the sprocket. The flywheel smooths out rotation, carries the starter ring gear and is the friction surface for the clutch.
Installation location: In the crankcase of the M123 engine, four main bearings. The flywheel sits on the rear flange between the engine and the manual transmission.
Condition: Used, removed. Main and crank journals metallic with oil and dirt residue and slight discoloration, no deep scoring visible in the photos. Material code 49MnVS3 on the web, red paint marking, marker number 9. Flywheel with complete starter ring gear and old inscription “Merc. 250 /123 129PS”, with signs of use — resurfacing recommended. Bearing journals not measured, no crack or runout testing — please have it checked by an engine rebuilder before installation. The parts are used and can be viewed on site in 84079 Bruckberg by appointment. Pickup only in 84079 Bruckberg (Landshut district).

Fits the following Mercedes-Benz models with M123 engine
The M123 (bore 86 mm, stroke 72.45 mm, four main bearings) was only installed in the W123 250 — with 129 PS (until 1979) and 140 PS (from 1979). According to the tag, this shaft comes from a 250 with 129 PS. For the long-wheelbase 250 (V123), please compare the casting number or send us the engine number. The included flywheel is for manual transmission.

250 W114 (until 1972), 250 (2.8), 280 and 280 E have seven-bearing shafts with 78.8 mm stroke.
⚠ Flywheel for manual transmission only
Vehicles with automatic transmission have a driveplate instead of the flywheel.
