New old stock (NOS – New Old Stock), unused in the original Mercedes-Benz parts box with factory label and Made in Germany print. Complete set with 8 bearing shells, running surfaces free of scoring, installation or fitting marks, retaining lugs undamaged. Due to storage, the shells show slightly different surface coloring.
Function and location
This set of plain bearing shells serves as the connecting rod bearing: the steel-backed shells carry the oil film between the con-rod big end and the crankshaft crank pin, and absorb the engine's combustion and inertial forces. It is a classic wear part that is renewed at every engine overhaul.
Two half-shells are installed per connecting rod in the split big end, between the connecting rod or connecting rod bearing cap and the crank pin of the crankshaft.
How can you tell that connecting rod bearings are faulty?
- Knocking, metallic running noise from the engine, especially at idle or under load
- Dropping oil pressure
- Metal debris in the engine oil or on the oil filter
- In advanced stages, noticeable loss of power and vibrations

Part numbers: This connecting rod bearing set carries the numbers 1020300060, A1020300060 and 102 030 00 60 – all for the same standard-size version with a 48.00 mm crank pin diameter. For crankshafts that have already been ground, undersize stages are available: 102 030 02 60 (undersize I, 47.75 mm), 102 030 03 60 (undersize II, 47.50 mm) and 102 030 04 60 (undersize III, 47.25 mm).

Measurement stage & manufacturer number are decisive. There are four undersize stages with different crank pin dimensions – please measure the crankshaft before installation and compare it with the standard version offered here (48.00 mm, number 102 030 00 60).

- Engines M103, M104, M111 (different bearing sets required)
- Early four-cylinder M115
- Diesel engines OM615 to OM621
- W124 200 E, 200 CE, 200 TE with M111 from 1992 (1,998cc engine – these use different sets)
- Ground or undersize-reground crankshafts (observe undersize stages)

How do I know if this set fits my crankshaft?
This set is the standard-size version (48.00 mm, number 102 030 00 60). If the crankshaft has already been ground, undersize stages I to III with smaller dimensions apply – please measure beforehand or ask us before buying.
Does the set also fit the six-cylinder M110?
No. The M110 has its own set, 110 030 00 60, with 12 bearing shells. Different sets are also needed for M103, M104, M111, early M115 four-cylinder engines and the OM615 to OM621 diesel engines.
