New old stock (NOS). The original packaging is present, age-yellowed and shows signs of storage. The repair kit itself is unused and was never installed.
Function and location
The repair kit is used to restore the cable pulley housing of the mechanical parking brake. The cable pulley housing is the deflection unit through which the handbrake cables are guided from the handbrake lever or the equalizer linkage to the rear drum brakes. If the pulleys and pins are worn or rusted seized, the handbrake lever becomes stiff, pulls unevenly to one side, or no longer releases fully – classic reasons for objections during the periodic vehicle inspection.
The component is located underfloor along the handbrake cable routing between the handbrake lever or equalizer and the rear axle, and is bolted to the floor panel. It is a purely mechanical component with no hydraulics.
