Vehicle system and function
Closes off the timing chain compartment at the front of the V8 and carries the front crankshaft seal and the bearing bushings. The inspection plate closes the drive flange of the hydraulic pump when no self-levelling suspension is fitted.
Installation location: Front face of the engine, bolted to the crankcase.
Condition: Refurbished in our workshop: cleaned and newly coated in silver-gray. Fitted are a shaft seal, two plug screws, a fitting and the inspection plate (cover of the hydraulic pump flange) with four screws. Three bronze bushings sit inside. Inside on the left there is a dark oil stain, and on the pump seat a label remnant. No cracks are visible.

The M117 engines (4.5 / 5.0 / 5.6 l) have their own timing case covers (117 015 …).
⚠ M116 with a different displacement
The M116 with 3.5 l and with 3.8 / 4.2 l differ in the attachments (oil line, oil cooler connection). Please compare the casting number and connections.
