Function and location
The instrument cluster displays the speed as well as the total and trip odometer reading; it is driven mechanically via the speedometer cable from the transmission output. The same housing also holds the combined gauge for fuel level, coolant temperature and oil pressure, as well as the analogue clock. The displays are backlit and adjustable via the instrument dimmer. The oil pressure gauge is scaled in bar.
Installation location: in the dashboard directly in front of the driver, inserted from the front into the instrument carrier. Connected via the speedometer cable at the transmission output and the plug contacts on the back.

What matters is the speedometer ratio. This instrument carries the value K=0840. The speedometer ratio depends on the rear axle ratio and tire size, not on engine size – a speedometer with a different value will permanently read incorrectly despite having the same scale. Please compare the value with the sticker on the speedometer drive of your old instrument.
The scale must match. This instrument has 220 km/h. Instruments with a different scale carry a different part number and are not directly interchangeable.
