Function and location
The electronic control unit belongs to the Bosch/Mercedes KE-Jetronic (mixture formation). It evaluates the sensor data and controls the control pressure via the electro-hydraulic actuator on the fuel distributor – responsible for cold-start and warm-up enrichment, overrun fuel cutoff and lambda control.
It is installed inside the cabin in the area of the front passenger footwell, or at the engine electronics – not in the engine bay.

- Poor cold start or rough warm-up running
- Rough or irregular idle
- Overrun fuel cutoff does not engage, or engages irregularly
- Faulty lambda control, noticeably increased fuel consumption
