Condition of this part
Used part, complete and intact. The contacts are clean, the rubber boot is slightly hardened. The Mercedes label shows the inspection number 2442 (drawing date 03/1986) and version A; please refer to the photos for the connector housing.
Function and location
This original rotary light switch turns on the parking lights and low beam by turning it. Pulling the knob (symbol on the knob) additionally activates the fog lights. The switch also supplies the instrument dimming.
It is installed in the dashboard to the left of the instrument cluster, screwed in from behind and connected to the vehicle's electrical system via the connector.
How can you tell a light switch is defective?
- Parking lights or low beam do not switch on when turning the switch.
- The fog lights cannot be activated by pulling the knob.
- The instrument lighting cannot be dimmed.
