Condition of this part
Used, with openly stated defects: the electrical ignition switch is missing – the octagonal mount at the rear end of the housing is empty, the four threaded lugs and the driver are visible. Several teeth are broken off at the edge of this mount, and there is a light-colored casting flaw at the mounting tab. The black coating of the cylinder housing has flaked off over a large area. The two-pin contact with cable and plug is present; a key is not included.
Function and location
Steering lock of the W201 and W124 model series: die-cast housing with lock cylinder and locking pin to the steering column. When the key is removed, the locking pin extends and locks the steering spindle. The electrical ignition switch, which is inserted into the octagonal mount at the rear, is not fitted on this unit.
Installation location: on the steering column tube under the steering column trim, bolted via the clamp flange.

⚠ Important: compare the part number before buying
The electrical ignition switch is not included and must be taken over from the old part or sourced separately; the chips in the housing can be seen in the product photos. No key belongs to this lock, so the function of the cylinder cannot be conclusively tested. W201 and W124 were supplied with different wiring harnesses throughout the production period – please compare the round ignition switch and the small auxiliary connector with your old part using the photos.
