Vehicle system and function
The rotary latch in the lock engages around the striker at the rear panel and keeps the trunk lid closed. The built-in lock cylinder also serves as the push button for opening; the key locks and unlocks mechanically, the vacuum element locks the lid with the pneumatic central locking. On the late design, the remote control opens the trunk lid via the vacuum element. A switch with a two-wire cable (blue/brown) and small connector sits on the lock cylinder; the trunk light has its own switch.
Installation location: Inside the trunk lid, centered at the level of the handle strip; the cylinder with rubber collar protrudes outward. Fastened with two screws, with a gasket in between.
Condition: Used genuine lock of the late design with vacuum element A 208 800 03 75, switch with cable and connector and 1 duplicate key on a JMA blank (not an original key). Housing without breakage, dust and light scratches.
How to recognize a defective part
- ● Trunk lid does not open via remote control, only with a knock on the lock
- ● Leaking vacuum element or hose, the force fades
- ● Rusted-solid lock cylinder, the key does not turn
