Vehicle system and function
The control panel operates the dual-zone automatic climate control: temperature separately for driver and passenger, blower, air distribution, recirculation, front and rear window as well as EC (compressor off) and REST (residual heat). The LCD display shows the set values.
Installation location: In the center console in the trim panel below the radio. It is removed forward like a radio, using extraction keys.
Condition: Used genuine part, number stamped into the housing. Front and button symbols in good condition, back of the housing with scratches, greenish residues, adhesive tape remnants and a marking.
How to recognize a defective part

⚠ Final revision before the facelift
The control panels supersede each other in the order 07 85 → 22 85 → 23 85 → 24 85. This control panel can replace all older revisions.
⚠ Not after the 1999 facelift
From the facelift (from VIN A 962232 / X 027614) only A 210 830 32 85 is approved – this control panel is not suitable for that.
⚠ Not for Tempmatic
Vehicles with Tempmatic (code 580) have their own control panels with a different ending number.
⚠ Not CLK W208
The CLK with automatic climate control has A 140 830 26 85.
⚠ Does not fit:
  • W210 / S210 from the 1999 facelift (e.g. E 270 CDI, E 320 CDI, E 240 2.6 l, E 430 4MATIC)
  • W210 with Tempmatic
  • C-Class W202 (A 202 830 … 85)
  • CLK W208

FAQ
Does the control panel need to be coded?
Yes, the version coding P1/P2 is set directly via the buttons: ignition on, set “HI” on the left and “LO” on the right, ignition off. Then hold REST pressed and switch the ignition on – P1 appears on the left, the value is set with the right arrow buttons and stored with EC, press EC again for P2. It is best to read off the values from the old control panel beforehand.
Does the control panel fit my vehicle?
Please compare the number on the old control panel (stamped into the top of the housing) or send us the VIN (chassis number) via eBay.
