Function and location
This right-hand steering column switch is the wiper stalk for the windshield wipers and washer system – with interval setting (stages 0-I-II-III) and wipe/wash function. This is the wiper stalk, not the turn signal switch.
The switch is installed on the steering column, on the right.
How can you tell if a wipe/wash stalk is faulty?
- The windshield wipers can no longer be switched on or off with the stalk
- The interval stages (0-I-II-III) do not respond, or respond irregularly
- Tapping the stalk no longer triggers the washer system
- The wiper gets stuck in one setting
