Condition of this part
New old stock (NOS), unused in the original Mercedes box. The chrome mast is bright, free of scratches and free of rust; the threaded base shows brownish residue from dried-out factory grease, but no rust. The nylon drive cable is intact and slightly yellowed from storage. The original WISI grease sachet (5 g) is included unopened; the age of the grease cannot be checked. The box is noticeably yellowed, soiled and torn at the top edge. As no test bench is available, the part is sold untested.
Function and location
The replacement mast is the extendable, multi-section chrome antenna rod of an electric power antenna. The slotted drive cable attached to it is engaged by the antenna motor via a gear and extends the mast out of the antenna base when the radio is switched on, or retracts it again. If the cable breaks, this set repairs the original antenna instead of replacing it completely.
The antenna base sits behind the rear fender, usually on the right side. The mast sits in the guide tube, and the drive cable coils up in the drum of the antenna motor underneath. The included grease sachet is for lubricating the mast segments during installation.
How can you tell if the antenna mast is defective?
- The antenna no longer extends or retracts when the radio is switched on
- The antenna motor is audibly active, but the mast does not move, or only jerkily
- The mast can no longer be pushed in or out smoothly by hand because the drive cable has broken or jumped out of the gear teeth

The antenna type is decisive, not the model series. This mast fits exclusively into WISI power antennas of types AA80 to AA93 and AD50 to AD52. Hirschmann antennas use a toothed plastic rod instead of a slotted drive cable and are not compatible. Please read the type off your antenna unit and compare it with the list.

Does the mast fit any WISI antenna?
No, only into types AA80 to AA93 as well as AD50 to AD52 (as printed on the antenna unit). Hirschmann, Becker, Bosch and BERU antennas are not compatible.
