Function and location
The valve guide is a bushing pressed into the cylinder head that radially guides the valve stem and centres the valve on its seat. It conducts most of the valve heat into the cylinder head and carries the valve stem seal at the top.
Location in the cylinder head: between the valve spring seat and the port, one guide per intake or exhaust valve. Installation and removal are done with a mandrel and press on the heated head.
