Causes

The fuel system pressure regulator is part of the Bosch KE-Jetronic: it keeps system pressure constant at around 5.3 bar and ensures enough residual pressure remains in the system after shutdown. It's installed bolted to the fuel distributor, or in the return line – right in the engine heat.
