How can you tell a warm-up regulator is faulty?
The warm-up regulator is part of the Bosch K-Jetronic injection system. As a control-pressure regulator, it lowers the control pressure when the engine is cold and thereby enriches the mixture during the warm-up phase. It is electrically heated to adapt the regulation to the engine's characteristics.
If the regulator is faulty, this mixture enrichment during the warm-up phase is missing, because the control pressure is no longer correctly regulated.
