Vehicle system and function
The K-Jetronic cold start valve sprays additional fuel into the intake manifold when a cold engine is started. It is controlled by the thermo time switch; with a warm engine it stays closed so that the engine does not run too rich.
Installation location: On the intake manifold, secured with two bolts via the 2-hole flange; the fuel arrives via a banjo bolt.
Condition: Used genuine Bosch valve, tested on the test bench.
How to recognize a defective part
- ● Hard starting with a cold engine
- ● Leaking valve: the engine stalls at idle
- ● Clogged screens at the connections, the valve delivers too little fuel
- ● Poor spray pattern
