Vehicle system and function
Genuine Mercedes-Benz fuel accumulator A 000 476 04 21 for the K-Jetronic (star and part number stamped into the housing), identical to Bosch 0 438 170 017. After the engine is switched off, the accumulator maintains the fuel pressure in the K-Jetronic system for hours (residual pressure). The line stays free of vapor bubbles, and the warm engine starts without long cranking. In addition, the spring-loaded diaphragm damps the pressure pulsations of the fuel pump. Typical failure symptoms of a worn accumulator: hot-start problems or fuel leaking at the vent port.
Installation location: Underbody at the fuel delivery unit near the tank, directly behind the fuel pump and ahead of the fuel filter; banjo-bolt connection with copper sealing ring.
Condition: Used genuine part, personally tested by me. Housing with an even, matte patina from storage, a few fine dents and superficial scratches on the cylinder body (see photos), no rust-through. Connection thread clean and undamaged, both copper sealing rings present, retaining tab secure. No fuel leakage.
