Vehicle system and function
The cruise control unit compares the speed pulses with the stored set speed and then controls the electric actuator motor on the throttle linkage. It switches off when braking, when the clutch is pressed or on strong deceleration, and it regulates from about 40 km/h.
Installation location: In the interior – depending on the model series on the driver's side behind the side trim near the brake pedal and bulkhead, on the W124 under the carpet in the front passenger footwell.
Condition: Used genuine control unit, tested, capacitors replaced. Price is per piece.
How to recognize a defective part
- ● Cruise control switches off again after 20 to 40 seconds
- ● Speed is not held, the regulation is jerky
- ● Set speed is not accepted
- ● Total failure with intact fuse and wiring due to aged capacitors or cold solder joints
