Vehicle system and function
Radial shaft seal: The spring-loaded sealing lip rests on the rotating shaft and keeps the oil in the housing, while the outer shell sits firmly in the housing bore. The helical grooves on the lip convey escaping oil back – the seal is therefore direction-of-rotation specific (arrow on the face).
Installation location: According to aftermarket catalogs, at the transmission output (output flange of the manual transmission, transmission side at the rear). What matters is the part number or the dimensions of your removed seal.
Condition: New old stock (NOS) from warehouse stock, unused, in the Mercedes-Benz original carton with the storage code BDH. The carton shows signs of storage; the seal itself is unused.

The crankshaft seal A 011 997 06 47 and the wheel hub seals of the A 011 997 51 47 series are different parts.
