Vehicle system and function
The shaft seal seals the wheel bearing in the front wheel hub: It keeps the bearing grease in the hub and protects the tapered roller bearings from water and dirt. An additional dust lip shields the sealing lip from the outside.
Installation location: Front axle, inside the wheel hub on the steering knuckle side – same left and right.
Condition: New old stock (NOS), unused, in the blue Mercedes-Benz original carton with label “1 DICHTRING 019 997 08 47”, stamped CFW. The carton shows signs of storage.
How to tell that a part is defective
  • ● Grease leaks at the inside of the front wheel hub
  • ● Replaced with every wheel bearing change or when adjusting the front wheel bearings
